Background
The Emerging Markets Homeownership Initiative (EMHI) is a collaborative public-private partnership to close the homeownership gap in Minnesota with participants from about 50 organizations. Governor Pawlenty officially launched the initiative on June 28, 2004, with the charge of developing a business plan that will increase homeownership in communities of color throughout the state "significantly and dramatically" by 2012. Minnesota Housing is a proud supporter of EMHI.
Conveners
The three lead conveners of the initiative are Fannie Mae (www.fanniemae.com), the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis (www.minneapolisfed.org) and the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency.
