Funding Partners

In addition to Minnesota Housing, funding is available through the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund, Family Housing Fund, Metropolitan Council, Saint Paul Public Housing Agency, Minnesota Department of Corrections, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development and Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Collaborating Funding Partners

To simplify the process for applicants, collaborating funding partners also use the Minnesota Multifamily Rental Housing Common Application form and align their resources with the Multifamily Consolidated RFP.  Collaborating funding partners include Hennepin County, Ramsey County and the cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.  Funding priorities, underwriting standards, and application deadlines may vary among collaborating partners.Minnesota Housing and its funding partners will provide an estimated $45.5 million in funding, up to $30 million in housing infrastructure bond proceeds, $11.6 million in annual Housing Tax Credits and 15 Project Based Rental Assistance Vouchers that align with Minnesota Housing’s mission and strategic priorities:   


Technical Assistance and Resources

Applicants are encouraged to review and analyze the Community Profiles, through an interactive web based tool developed by Minnesota Housing to provide data to help identify the communities in Minnesota with a potential need for housing investment and the type of needed investment.Applicants are encouraged to attend a technical assistance session to review application changes and learn about current funding priorities this round. You may register for the training online by clicking the session you wish to attend:


Individual Technical Assistance is also available on request. All Webinars will be recorded and available on the Minnesota Housing website within a few days of their recording.

Metropolitan Council – Local Housing Incentive Account (LHIA)$1.5 million

Minnesota Department of Corrections – Institution Community Work Crew (ICWC) Affordable Housing Building Program provides interest free, interim construction financing but only to nonprofit entities in certain areas of the state.

Application Due Dates

Applications must be received by the following dates to be eligible for funding:

2012 Multifamily RFP  June 12, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
2013 Housing Tax Credit Round 1  June 12, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
2012 Single Family RFP  June 19, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
 

Proposal Selection

Recommendations for the Multifamily, Housing Tax Credit and Single Family proposal selections will be made at the Minnesota Housing board meeting on October 25, 2012.  Funding partner proposal recommendations will be made at their respective board meetings.
